Your welcome Christine, I am glad you didnt mind the avatar being fixed for ya, please feel free to change it anytime,,, I just figured I would get some familiarity going on around here and upload avatar for everyone that made it over at first.... I just used my photobucket account for them...
Ok Angel,,, as far as a new posts button this forum is a little different, but I think better in a way... Might take a few to get used to it but I think once you do it will be better for you.... I too loved that feature on the old board.
At the bottom of the first page of this forum, and you can get there from the link train at the top left of all of the pages, it tells you where you are,,, this page says
Healing Spirit Forum, General Topics, General Chit-Chat....
You can click on those links and get back into the general chit chat forum or go back to the home page itself by clicking Healing Spirit Forum....
Once your at the main page, Healing Spirit Forum you scroll all the way down to the bottom and you will see this:

View the 100 most recent posts of this forum.
What you want is the View the 100 most recent posts.... Click on that.... There you can skim the 100 most recent posts... What I do is I scroll down until I see the last post I made and then everything from there on up is new to me.... If you want to reply you can click on the title and be taken to that post. Sometimes there are more then one reply to the posts, so at first it may seem confusing, but once you use it a few times it actually saves you time, rather then having to click on every post to read it, you have them all there.... You know how some times you dont have a comment to leave and sometimes we have a lot of comments to leave.... And sometimes we just want to read what others say.... Well thats how that works! Feel free to ask more questions.... I am more then happy to help out and I think Sloan and Aura got it pretty down also.... We all will in due time....
One of the features I like about this board is that unless you actually click on one of the posts it says "new" in front of the post so you know that you havent read it. It will not change if you go away and come back either. The old forum used to mark everything as read if you left and came back, which made me sometimes not see stuff. This way I know if I read it or not...
That being said I smite Fay! hehehe I was your first Fay,,, you have a Karma point now hehehe!
I am really glad everyone is likeing the new board!!
