he he he.....this is one of my all time faves!
whole chicken one beer one onion bell pepper butter as many spices as you can manage(lol)
k, so take the chicken and wash. take the beer and open it(if ya like to carefully cut the top open a little more, it's all good). cut the peppers and onions; add a couple peices of both to the beer(inside). separate the skin a little from the meat, so you can add things inbetween(most flavor). so, mix some butter with spices. (i use garlic, onion, lemon pepper, extra spicey mrs. dash, steak seasoning, etc. lots of spice in the south, lol). place the spicey butter mix under the skin; as much as possible. then, place as many slices of onion and peppers under the skin. place the chicken over the beer can, all the way. it should set upright, easily. take more butter/spice mix and rub all over the chicken on the outside. plug the top hole(neck) of the chicken with a chunck of onion, just to keep in moisture. place in oven or on grill(grill is best). cook untill the skin is crispy, brown and when you poke all the way into the deepest part of the chicken, juice should run clear. alter spices however you like. it's hard to over cook it, since it has all this moisture cooking through it. it's all good! enjoy!!

Sounds good, I remember seeing this on the other forum.
Maybe you could get the chicken drunk first? Then get him to eat a whole lot of butter, spices, onion's etc, just for a bit more flavour?
