i woke up from a not so great dream this morning. i absolutely am petrified of snakes. some of ya remember that, huh? anyway, in the dream i ended up on the ground, on my back. like i fell or something and i was thinking how goofy i was for however i got down there, right. then, i look over and i see a snake just a foot or two away from me. ewe! so, just like in reality, i got frozen with fear. at first, i couldn't move away from it. after a moment or two, i finally rolled away from it and got up, but as i did, i came at me and bit me on my shin. i scream and reach down to grab it and as soon as i did, it squiggled and i purely can NOT stand the feeling of a snake when it moves so i let go and screamed for my hubby to come and then i woke up. the funny thing was, when i woke up i still felt the spot where it had bit me. when i reached down to make sure, i felt my hubby's hand. lol. i was balled up and he was curled up to me. his hand was on my leg and his fingers were twitching which made me think the snake was still there. lol. anyhoo, i looked up the meaning of dreaming of getting bit by a snake and it says that it represents fear of something in reality, basically. well, that makes sense. lol. i am making a transition right now that i'm nervous about. even though i'm very positive about it and feel good, i guess my subconscious is still aprehensive. go figure. i know this is the case, since i've never dreamed of snakes before, buch less getting bitten by one. i also hardly ever have fear of anything. right now, i guess i have a little? he he he.........anyway, anyone else know anything else about getting bitten by a snake in a dream? i know there are positives of dreaming of snakes, but being bitten by one is different. there's really no positive interpretation of that one. oh well, i know i'll be fine. just thought i'd check and see what others thinky!

What you said makes a lot of sense. Starting something new can be very frightening and since the thing you are most afraid of bits you maybe this is telling you to slow down a little with the change, or look at it a little differently. If it didn't bite, I would say you are just a little afraid of change and the fact you couldn't stand could mean you are afraid to pursue without help or stand on your own. Ok..the queen of dreams and you want to listen to me...right

Ok,,, this is my intuitive impressions after reading about snakes in dreams, snakes biting in dreams, my own understanding of snakes in general, and what they represent, and your dream Aura.... You tell me if it relates...
The snake is a shadow symbol, which means it can represent two things, it can represent the positive and negative aspect in life. I wonder if you relate to the snake as one of your shadow totems? I got a strong impression that the snake is that for you... I believe everything has two sides but the snake more then some other totems is one that is considered a shadow totem...
The snake also represents male sexual energy, that was interesting to me that hubbys hand was there on your leg, where the bite was. I read in a book that aggressive snakes sometimes represent fear of someone holding you back or fear of someone acting aggressively towards you. I also read in the book, what you said, fear of a change, transitions, snakes shedding skin representing transitions in life... Sooooooooo I wonder what hubby thinks of this growth that your going through? I am sure you two have discussed it,,, but I wonder what hes feeling or maybe what you are worried about him feeling, if that makes sense? Or maybe if not hubby, just the family as a whole, how your moving into a different direction will effect them and how that will effect you in the long run. Maybe just being concerned about that and that is what the dream was signifying for you... I may be way off, but I am curious to see what you think!
As you all know,,, I am a novice dream person,,, have been thinking a lot lately about getting more into dreams,,, so this is good practice for me.... (((hugs)))

YES! it is my only true shadow totem. i know i'm suppose to learn the positive offers of a snake totem, to get past that, but i haven't been able to accept that. i'm petrified of them. as far as hubby and what he thinks.......well, i know he's ready for me to do something like this, but there is some kind of vibe i get from him. not sure about it. like maybe he has no faith in what i'm doing or.........maybe HE'S just not sure about it. i did tell him that i needed him to let me know he's proud of me for taking such a major step for positive change, but i just think he's really unsure, ya know? but, that doesn't sway me at all. i'm still going to do it and do it very well. lol. i think that mean ol snake represents both of those possibilities. ya'll both have great points! yep, star, that could be another point. i have really got to move past my fear of those squiggly critters! lol. thanks so much ya'll. now i know what to work on! ~hugs and loves~
