You have asked some great questions and I am sure you will find them here.
The one that stuck out for me was the hand positions. There are many books out there that can show you positions, but it really comes down to what you feel comfortable with. I am not sure but I would venture to say members here use different positions.
As you learn more and become comfortable with the energy and your hand positions may change from the "taught" positions. I don't believe there is a "correct" way, but a way you feel comfortable with sending energy.
This is a great place to learn and have fun, don't be afraid to jump right in.

I wanted to chime in regarding the hand positions, too. If you are not comfortable in a certain position, move. LOL I know it seems so simple but I used to get caught up in "doing it right". Reiki flows anytime, anyplace. If I have my hands on my client's head and they need reiki in their kidney, for example, reiki flows there. It is not about where we place our hands. It's about opening ourselves as a channel for reiki to flow. I say hand positions fall into the "don't sweat the small stuff, don't pet the sweaty stuff" category. LOL

 Welcome Dawn! I'm sorry to hear that you have had some less than positive experiences. We have a great group here, and I am sure we can answer your questions and get you on the right track. I want to agree with everyone above me, all that really matters is intention. Their is no "right " way. Just do what feels best to you. As far as your symptoms, they sound pretty normal for what I have experienced and my students tell me. Just drink plenty of water and get some rest and you will feel great soon. Kristi |
