just thought i'd share a thought with ya'll today. it's nothing major, really, but apparently it took me some time to figure out something so simple. a teacher can tell you, all day long in yoga (or any health/spiritual practice), but until you find it in yourself, ya never quite 'get it'. well, today's yoga was the best i've had in years. i've surely come a long way and advanced a great deal, but today, i had a different thought process. as i began, sitting in prayer pose and calming my mind, i was struck to ask, "if i have a guide that can help me with my practice, join me now. help me clear my mind, calm my spirit and truely connect my inner and outer selves." as i began, i felt unusually calm. i always practice for at least 35 - 45 minutes, but i felt as though, with each pose, i was taking more precious time. not thinking about the next pose, not rushing, not really concentrating at all. i truely felt that 'connection' that you hear about with yoga and i finally learned this:
never rush anything you do. each action has it's own moment. take each action, moment and breath with joy and care. only with this will one truely enjoy life.
