As far as I know it shouldn't matter, but say with the room example you may get better results with more stones placed around the room then any one single stone.

good question. not sure, but i've always figured larger ones would exert more energy for the purpose. if all i have are smaller ones, then i will set out more of themto make up for the small size, so i guess without thinking about it, my answer is yes. i could be wrong, though. lol.

I really don't think it matters at all. I have some amethyst. The smaller piece is very powerful! I can't even be in the same room with it as it elevates my vibration so much I get dizzy, nauseas and headaches. I only use it to channel. A larger I have sits next to my bed all the time - it is very gentle and I don't notice a thing. So, in the case of my amethyst, I am going to say size doesn't matter. Maybe the small ones are more potent? Who knows?

Well, I know there a a few stones that doesn't matter the size but the clearness of the stone. For instance, I have a crystal ball that has very few inclusions and it really is strong. I also know that herkimer diamonds are better without inclusions than larger ones with. Maybe it depends on the stones. I read if you have a smaller clearer herkimer and quartz, they have more power. I have heard size really doesn't matter, but if it does with these two, who knows.
Perhaps they all have energy and what you program these to be is the key. Maybe this is something we can find out.
I know there are some stones that are "better" than others, so does that affect the power???

I'm going to say No, it doesn't matter. My thoughts are that the size and energy potential is set by our intention. If I have a small stone which I want to set an intention to effect the whole room, house... etc I belive I can set that intention and charge that stone for that purpose.
Just my thoughts on it though. Keeping in mind the belief that anything is small, large or otherwise is an illusion. I suppose this is where my thinking on this comes. It's the belief of my mind that changes what I think the purpose of anything is.

Hmmm...do you think the Universe is trying to tell me to go with my gut? LOL
Thank you for all your wonderful insight!

I also agree with Miss E. Had I not read about the "clearer" stones, I would not know the difference. I've always said, if someone gave me a paper clip and told me it would do this or that, and I believed it, then whatever I believed would happen would. Intent is everything.

forgot...I don't think larger stones require more cleansing. Again, the intent is there. There are so many ways to cleanse stones, from smudging to incense to sacred breath and others, so do what you think is best. Intent again.

Wow, dont know how I missed this thread!
I am going to go with personal experience here and say that sometimes size does matter.... It may be that the smaller crystal I have is just not as "powerful" itself as the larger one, so it may be something else... But I have two pollucite crystals,,, the first one a pinkey nail size,,, it has a very powerful energy but not as strong as the larger pollucite I have... That one I can only hold for a few minutes before I start to feel totally ungrounded and way up there. I mean I love that, but I have to respect that is how that type of stone reacts with me.
I dont know why it is like that, but it truly is in the case of those two stones of mine.
Now something that is more gentle like a piece of calcite, I wouldnt think size mattered. I have small and large pieces of that and they do not seem to change by the size of each stone.
So maybe it is just personal experience? I like to listen to what others say, that is so very important to me and then I like to experiment myself with all of the valuables that others give me about a particular topic and come to my own conclusions.... So
Joanie,,, tell me,,, what do you think? Does size matter?

Ok Star, I have an answer to the question of size..... It most certainly does not matter. I just adopted a tiny piece of phenacite, and wow, it packs a powerful punch. It's no bigger than my pinky fingernail. I also adopted an elestial quartz, about half the size of a golf ball, and and it too is crazy strong. I love it!

Phenacite is awesome. Usually the pieces are pretty small and they are very powerful. I have a couple small pieces myself.

Phenacite has been called the highest vibration stone we've discovered so far. It makes me a bit dizzy when I handle it. I have to find a way to gound myself more when I use it. Perhaps keeping a black stone nearby would help?

Yea I guess it just depends on the stone,,, maybe my larger piece of pollucite is just a stronger stone...
I love the phenacite,,, nice stuff!
