Devi, They are very similar in many ways. There are no attunements in QT, but you learn to pass energy to other people. The idea in QT is to raise your vibration, and the vibration of the person you are working on in order to allow the other person's body to heal itself. I am a level 1, and use it along with Reiki all the time. QT has some cool techniques to build up energy in order to give it in stronger bursts. QT also uses a lot f Chakra spinning while passing energy, which I find very useful. Kristi

I also use it with Reiki and I think it makes the whole process more powerful and effective. I didn't know there were levels in QT though, where does that come from? I just read the book and started using the breathing, and then added some of the other enhancements to go with it. I'd very much like to see a video or attend a workshop, but haven't been able to afford that yet. I'd be interested in knowing what differences people see in using QT with reiki. I was able to kill pain in a friend of mine much more quickly than he expected (had used regular reiki on him up til then).

I took a workshop and was told I was a Level One, but would need to go to a big expensive conference to truly be certified and able to call myself a practitioner. I think that the techniques are great, and have never felt the need to go further in the training. I think the QT techniques makes the energy more powerful, and have had similar experiences with pain relief. Kristi

I use QT also but am not certified or attuned. I just have a friend who taught what I do know.
She also taught me how to do the breathing technique and this stacking hands on an area "thing".
I've found this to be really useful during group sessions.

Yes it does sound interesting I had a healing from a woman that was a member of the order of Melchelzidek, she called it a 'light' touch healing..wondering now if same as the quantum. She moved from head to toe at a high rate of speed, lightly touching different areas. Before she started she informed me I might see energy, associated with different colors..I did, where ever she was working, I saw the color of the chakra for that particular area...I also saw an 'eye' thought it was a spider at first...lol..when the woman concluded, she asked me if I saw any colors, told her what I had seen..she told me I had seen the 'eye' of God....I quickly gathered my things and left..lol..thinking I really must have down something bad..lololol...this was about a year before I became involved with reiki, so this has been a few..lol Would luv to know more about quantum Kathy

Elaine actually taught me about the breathing and it was very interesting and really helped me calm and be able to meditate more deeply. I still have some issues with slowing my mind down. I think she also told me about the hands, but I don't remember. I do know I had reached a level in the breathing technique. I think 8 was the top and I made it to 5, but when you don't practice, I started back at the beginning. Elaine, would you mind sharing those again. I found it really helpful. Like Aura I have never heard of the QT before except from Elaine and it was a crib notes version.

Ut Oh.... You guys put me on the spot with that one.... I think what Saffy was talking about is the meditation we talked about to teach yourself patience when learning to meditate and focus on only your breathing. It's called Calm Meditation (or more technical Samatha or Vipassanna) Find a comfortable position to sit in. Just be in the now. Relax and let go of any thoughts that may enter. Focus your attention to your breath. Notice the chance in temperature at the tip of your nose as the air flows in and out. You can stop there and just be in the now. But because most people loose patience at this point and thought begin to enter. Begin to breath in "for a count" Breath in "1, 2" breath out "1-2" breath in "1, 2, 3" breath out "1, 2, 3" then on up "1, 2, 3,4". It's the goal to reach a count of 8 (some recommend 10 but I've not reached this level). This takes practice but can be achieved in time... it just takes effort and patience. I just feel the counting helps the mind from wandering so much. Don't be hard on yourself set no expectations or limits and just let it be. Ok Now... The QT breathing I was taught is like for use during a session and you breath for a "count of 4" You place your hands on the body where work is needed. Really focus on pulling the energy "up" (I was told it's different from Reiki which is down from the crown) from the earth. As you pull up breath in for a count of 4. Focus the energy on the area you are working on as you slowly exhale out. (I will blow my breath on the area not that I was shown to do this I just added it) I'm pretty sure this technique is found in several Reiki or energy techniques. But This is just what my friend showed me and said it was Qt. I'm really not sure maybe Kristi can help us better That said breath is something I use it ALL the me! And I really find it to be useful. Keeping in mind I'm no expert or master on the topic just what I've got. Ramble girl out!

*ah shucks Miss E, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to put you on the spot like that. But what you wrote makes perfect sense really and I often find my mind wandering so this will hopefully help with that. Thanks!

It is a QT breathing technique. The other one is Breath of Fire from yoga where you breath in and out very rapidly while sending energy. It builds the energy up, and really gives the person you are working on a boost. It is a cool technique, but makes alot of noise, and I get embarrassed about it, so I don't use it. Kristi

Well, I Think I put Miss E on the spot. I knew about the breathing and didn't remember what it was associated with. I know it worked for me and it is one of those things, if you don't do it, you have to start all over. Sorry, but you really did help me a lot. Forgive me..

Anyone using Reiki/QT by distance? I'm working on someone by distance who had a knee injury (popped real loudly, then swelled, now is still hurting a bunch) and I don't seem to be having any effect. Is anyone using QT by distance able to give me any specific tips to kill the pain and reduce the swelling? I also found myself doing some color visualization while I was working on him, but the report was that the pain was worse. Is anyone using color when healing? Is there a color specified for healing or pain relief? This guy won't go to a doctor or take any meds, so it's pretty much up to me and his own reiki (which doesn't seem to be helping, either). I'm also suggesting icing the knee. Suggestions welcome, Jeanne

I use my own chakras for color, keep in mind with QT that the pain wil get worse during treatment, but keep going as long as you can, and the pain should subside.
