Ok I'm sure we all have times when our Reiki is not flowing the way it used to be. For me, whenever I seem to need it most..(when I'm in an anxious or stressful situation, when I'm nervous, afraid, or angry) sometimes the Reiki just isn't there. I feel, well, energetically "constipated." Had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and I was very nervous in the waiting room, so I thought I'd give myself some Reiki...It didn't flow very much. Well, the visit did not go as I thought it would, and I was a bit upset with the doctor, and even the next day, as I am thinking "maybe it's time to go shopping for a new doctor," I could not get the Reiki going again. It wasn't until much later that day that I was able to give my cat a short treatment. So, how do y'all get the flow going again when this happens to you? Do I need to be better grounded? Or is there a technique I can use? Maybe I should just never go to the doctor again? LOL Just kidding....

Hi Joanie, Don't worry, Reiki always flows whenever you lay your hands on yourself or another with compassion. I find when I am REALLY stressed it can be hard to feel the energy but its effects are still there. Sorry about the doctor situation. I'll be keeping you in thought, prayer, energy. Christine

I totally know what you mean. It does feel like you said. I've had conversations with others and of course it is always working, but sometimes it helps me to send Reiki to someone else, it will still go through you, and I started feeling is a little. So I did that a few timesand then I felt like it was "working" too.
Hang in there and just keep doing what you normally do. It is always there.

Same as above, it's always there, just that you're stressed out so you don't notice it as much. Keep your head up, you'll be alright! ~hugs and stuff~

Thanks for the encouragement, Everyone. It sure seems like it dries up, but I guess you are right.....the very nature of Reiki would mean that it is always there, always available. I am happy to report that the session I gave my cat (mentioned in the post above) did him a world of good. And this afternoon, I was able to send a little Reiki on to a co worker and it really seemed to "take." So, it seems as though everything really is working and flowing. Thanks again, Friends!

Yea, even though I am late I have to agree with what the others said... I have experienced this very thing... In fact one time I was in the hospital having a minor procedure done on my back, I had a horrific headache and it was like I couldnt make the Reiki turn on. I laid on the hospital bed in the pre-op room and they wheeled a young boy, probably in his early teens into the room right across from me. I dont know what what going on with him but he had an IV hooked up to a vein in his neck so whatever it was, it wasnt good. I heard him complain to one of the nurses and he sounded really upset so I decided to ask my guides, and him etherically if he is willing to receive to please let it flow... It then turned on, I was surprised because no matter how hard I had tried sending to myself then I couldnt, but it worked sending to someone else, and you know when you send you receive so I was happy to be sending.
I think sometimes we think we dont feel anything, when in fact its just that we arent suppose to feel at that moment. I think when we ask for it and set our intention then it just is, feeling it is just something extra we get sometimes,,, if that makes sense?
I am glad your feeling it more now Joanie, I know when I am in that same situation it is like a relief to have it start back up again!
(((hugs)))

Another thing that can happen is that you acclimate to the energy and you don't notice it as much. For instance, when you have an attunement, your vibrational level jumps up and you may feel kind of weird and buzzy for a while until your body integrates the attunement. Then after a while this higher vibrational state is what's normal for you so you don't notice it as much. I also am convinced that how sensitive we are to energy has nothing to do with how effective it. I love to feel the energy but sometimes I just don't notice it too much...oddly enough, sometimes those times are times I've treated clients who felt blown away by the intensity of the energy. That makes sense Christine...we are always growing and as we grow, we take the knowledge with us.

Ladies, your wisdom is much appreciated! Christine's explanation makes perfect sense to me...Acclimating to the energy reminds me of how one cannot tickle one's own feet...Thanks for the insight, Everyone!
