Hi everyone. I love having the "today I'm grateful" section on the board. It reminds me to focus on what is important, rather than what is going wrong. One thing I continue to hear from the members of this board is how much love the board and each other's contributions, etc. So, I thought it would be cool to have a section where we could write what we get from the board.
I get a sense of community, belonging, and support. I also get a heck of a laugh more often than not. I love the inspirational stuff I read from each of you day in and day out. I feel connected because of this board and feel at home. While there are a few people in my life who I can share this part of myself with, it isn't quite the click of falling into place as I get on the board.
What do you get from the board?

Lets see I get...  And ... and more... But in addition to that. I too have a sense of community, connction, growth, enjoyment, inspiration, creativity, a chance to be silly, a chance to learn, sharing with each other is so important to me and a much much more. But that is what came to mind first. I'll have to add as the "more" comes to me. Oh and I get to use cute emoti's! |

I agree with both of you, there is such silliness here, it makes me smile. It's comforting to know whatever this day brings I can always share it on the board. Whether anyone is on the board, just writing it down and knowing caring people will read it and reply is a wonderful feeling. It is also a place where you don't need to hide, you can be your complete self and not a lot of people around me can understand. Sometimes I think is it weird that we are all over the world and yet I consider you my friends and even best friends. Thanks Star for creating this forum and allowing me a place to be at home. I feel just like you do, in a community of people, friends, family,,, that I just connect with,,, and even when I dont totally connect with what some say,,, I know I can still be myself and have my own opinions and not be judged. That is something that is cool beans to me (cause yes,,, im a bit weird) lol oh and i was listening to Wayne Dyer  speaking the other day... in his talk he said something along the lines of being spiritual means you look at life in a fun and happy and positive way,, you see the joy and are able to be happy and spread happiness... that is me, that is what I feel here,,,, happiness and joy,,, and when im moody,,, i come here and am overwhelmed by happiness and joy,,, its just impossible to be moody here too long! I am not a moody person by nature but all you girls know what i mean,,, we have our moments! (((hugs))) to us and I am grateful as ever to have all of you as part of my life! |

What do I get from this board?  I have found a place that I can freely express myself, where I have grown not just personally but spiritually as well. I have found not just friends but family and I'm not sure what I'd do without any of you in my life because it would be BORING!! well, i found a wonderful place where there are all kinds of things to learn and funny, smart, dear friends to learn with. we laugh and joke and care for each other when we hit rough patches or need advice. i love you guys!

 I so appreciate all my friends on this board. Like many of you I love having a place to talk about my real interests and be myself. There are parts of my life that I have to keep quiet about my beliefs and such. I have learned so much from everyone, you are all the bestest!  Kristi |

This feels like a place where I can be real...there's humor and inspiration and yet it's OK to vent and to ask for healing as well. I've learned a lot from people hear and I consider you all real friends.  Christine |

Wow, this is such a good thread!! I am still in the process of catching up with all of the threads, so sorry about my lateness in all of this! Ok, what I am greatful for... well, you all have said it so well (for those of you who have no idea who I am, I was on the old board, and have only just gotten to joining this one). Seeing that I have not been on this particular board for long... I will speak about what I got from the old board, is that ok...  Seeing that its the same baord really, just a different place. Sorry if it's not cool, let me know and I can always delete. Anyways, I have gotten so much from the beaord. Everything you have all said. But I think the thing that stands out most is that I got me from this board! When I first met Star and all the beautiful people from the board, i was so lost. I had no idea who I was, or where I was going. With the love, guidance and support from everyone here, I found myself. I couldn't have asked for a better gift. You are my friends, and my family... but so much more. Not only did you all help me find who I was, but you taught me that I had a right to be proud of me, and that it was ok to love me. I am eternally greatful to you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. xoxoxoxox |
