Just wondered if anyone else (aside from Elaine) has read any of Gregory Maguire's books? He has written a lot of books that are like a prelude to fairy tails,,, I am reading "Wicked" now.... Its about the wicked witch of the west and how she became that witch... I think hes written one about sleeping beauty and i think snow white too... I just love this one... It's the first one I have read from him, but its good! I know this isnt a metaphysical book, I love novels too, I usually have a novel I am reading along with several learning books at any given time... The novels I read one at a time, the learning books I will read and pick up another learning one if one catches me... Thanks for telling me how cute this book is Elaine,, your so right,, its awesome! Not yet. My mom has the copy of Wicked though, she was reading it to me while I was in the hospital yesterday. I can't wait to read the rest of it.

I've not read it yet, but it sounds great. Does the series include other characters from the Wizard of Oz or other stories?
And the title of this thread is Books and Reviews, so I think its great that we can share any books we like. I read other titles also and obvious others do too.

I just finished Son of a Witch about a month or so ago. It was awesome. I hope to read more of his books. They are so creatively written yanno?
My cousin got to see the Wicked Play when it came through Indy. She said it was great!

Is Son of a Witch about the same Wicked with of the west?? I saw it, but I didnt know.... Tooo coool! I seriously love Wicked,,, I fell asleep earlier reading it,,, its so good I cant put it down lol!

Son of a Witch is like a continuation of Wicked. It almost takes on a story of its own but it was really REALLY good! Goes on to explain some more about Elphaba and it twists and turns really well. I Loved it! Couldn't put it down either and I would think about it all day until I got back home to read again LOL!
