Just got the book "A New Earth," by Eckhart Tolle (The Power of Now guy...) It is wonderful.
The book discusses the collective conciousness (or unconciousness) and how to wake from the dream. Lots of talk about the ego, forgiveness, attachment, etc...It feels like this book was written just for me, as everything he talks about here is resonating with me.
I had such a hard time reading "The Power of Now," that I almost didn't purchase the book, but when I started paging through it, I was hooked. ;DIt's much simpler to understand than the Power of Now, and a very easy read. Couldn't put it down. Highly recommended!

Wow! It seems like we are all connecting to the same idea collectively.
The dream, The illusion, The Ego, collective counciousness, our unconcious guilt and Duality versus Oneness.
I just read a book called the Dissapearance of the Universe a few months ago and it was very enlightening and discussed this too.
I might take a peak at this book too, I've been on this big kick of finding anything I can on this topic from several sources.
For anyone else interested I found the Lankavatara Sutra free online it's an awesome read. Very very cool! A google search will pull it up.
Thanks for sharing!

Karen, yes I saw this on Oprah the other day....which is weird, since I never watch Oprah. I guess I was meant to see that episode. Kristi, Whew! I thought I was the only one who had trouble with the Power of Now. Elaine, Yep, I read parts of The Disappearance of the Universe...another one I had trouble digesting....A New Earth definately has the same themes, and seems to explain them in a clearer way...but that's just me.

I totally do! I just have to make myself go to the store now. Bookstore shopping is one of my favorite sins because I could spend hours there. Bookstores aren't the type of places I can pop in, pick something up and pop out. I need to spend significant time there. LOL So I will have to go in sometime this weekend or perhaps next and see what I can spend that card on.

It took me about a year and a hurricane to get through The Power of Now... Since it was one of the only books I didnt have packed away when I was living with my mom a few years ago,,, and we had a hurricane and no power for a week or so,,, I finally made it through the book.... Although it was a challange to get through it, it really did resonate with me once I did...
This book sounds cool, will have to look into it....
Oh and Elaine,,, been reading the Disappearance of the Universe... Woah,, I actually cant put it down lol,,, I go to the gym and do the eliptical bike just so I can have time to read it.... Thank you for sending it to me!

Oh yea, Joanie, check out iTunes or Audible because they are cheaper, because you dont have to pay for the disks and its better for the enviroment, no CD's or DVDs will fill up landfills... You can always burn them to DVD or CD if you have a burner and listen to them in the car,,, I got myself an ipod and take it everywhere though!
I will look for this on itunes,,, didnt even think of that,,, and i am the audio book queen lol

I am going to do what Star did. Great idea! I'm super busy right now and don't have time to erad without falling asleep within 5 minutes. Putting it on my Ipod I can listen in the car during the day. I'm excited to get it! Thanks!
Hugs

Well,, I had so much trouble with "Disappearance of the Universe," that I borrowed an audiobook from a friend which is Gary Renard discussing the book, and the principles of forgiveness...it's called "Secrets of the Immortal." I think you can get it from the SoundsTrue catalog. Now that stuff really Rocks!

Dang it! I totally missed this until checking this now. Thank Joanie!I'm gonna check the Secrets of the Immortal out. I still don't have sound but maybe I can borrow my son's MP3 and upload it. Audio books are so much easier!
Ok... so yesterday I bought the New Earth Book. I've just started it yesterday and already don't want to put it down. Woke up really early to read this morning. You're right!!! I really is much more simple to read than D.U. (dissappearance of the universe) and I can really see how this can enlighten the masses! Or at least bring awareness of the illusion to many at once. If that makes sense. Really like that!
Star, I just read through this post what you wrote about DU and wondered if you're still working through the book. I meant to ask the other day on the phone but got side tracked (ME? Nooooo... heh heh heh)
I really liked DU. I felt it helped me to understand the true meaning of everything Buddhism and earlier in my life Christianity has been teaching all along. It's very clear about ego and illusion and touches just about subject you might want to know about. It was hard to push through at points cuz I wanted the answers NOW! But I felt I read it as I was supposed to. I have the next book (Your Immortal Reality) if you'd like me to send it I can.
Ok ramble girl out.
Just had to let ya know I got the Echard Tolle book and so far it's right on with what I've been working on this past year. Just another way to cover awakening and it has some new idea's for me on what to focus on. So really liking it so far. Very cool!

Elaine, You can get podcasts of the Oprah and Eckart Tolle classes. They are on Monday night, but I usually don't make it. You can download from Itunes and put them on your mp3. It's really cool to hear him explain what he wrote, and people get to ask him questions. Very interesting!

I love this forum...I can learn all kinds of cool things..I'm not up on a lot of the newer, or old features like the downloading on ITunes, but I'm learning. I'm just start figuring out how to use it and remember what I did to do it. I stumble (haha) around to figure out things.
