Ok so I hit the jackpot today,,, like seriously,,, unbelievable...
My dad, the person I first got my love of rocks from (there have been many other influencers since) well he collected gemstones, crystals, and rocks when he was a little boy, he had not really collected them for 50 or more years... Welllll all the rocks were kept up in an attic in my grandparents house... My dad just came over this evening to give them to me!!!!! There are hundreds, maybe a 1000 rocks,,, no joke! Some of them are very cool tumbled river rocks and most of them came from his own unearthing of them, in quarries, caves and other places when he was young, and some were purchased... There is everything in there from this AWESOME piece of fluorite to slag glass to rhodochrocite to petrified wood to dolomite to dalmatian stone to sulfur,,, seriously I could go on and on and on... and he gave them all to ME!!!!
Not only are they AMAZING but they hold a super awesome meaning to me since my dad had them way before I was even born!
So here is my favorite piece out of the bunch,,, I know, im sorry Kristi, dont be fluorite jealous hehehehe.... It is a massive chunk of purple and white fluorite,,, I tried to get a picture of it with the light to the back to show you how it looks, but the picture does NOT does it justice at all
I'll take some more pictures later,,, it took me an hour and half just to wash them,,, boy were they DUSTY from sitting in an attic all those years! I felt like I was mining for crystals in my kitchen sink lol,,, they looked like boring old rocks and then I cleaned them and it was magick for surely!!!
