Hi everyone! I have been given a challenge, a test, really. I am trying to decide whether or not to do it. My cousin, who lives 3 hours away called me yesterday. She just got a large new tatoo, and for the hell of it, she wants me to do a medical intuitive reading on her and see if I can determine where it is, and what. I am having a real internal battle with this. My gut is saying, "Don't test metaphysical stuff just as a test, it may backfire", but my showoffy, ego self is saying, "Do it, you will blow her mind!!" And then there is the doubting Thomas part of me who says, "What if you are wrong....."
Ah, what to do? I can see it quite clearly, and even get some pain on the site on my own body, but do I really call and tell her? What would you do?

i have to say that i don't really agree with 'testing' of this nature. i think life is full of so many natural affirmations of our gifts, without testing the universe. i think if you already have natural doubt about whether or not to do it, then don't. the hesitation is a sure sign that it isn't something you want to do and maybe shouldn't do. not that it's 'bad', per se, it just doesn't seem to feel like the way to go....to me. i wouldn't worry about 'what if you're wrong'. you'd know by now. lol. but the backfire thing is always possible. like next time when you really need to use your ability, it won't work as it should. i dunno, maybe nothing would happen; just doesn't sit well for me personally. i can see how others, though, are intrigued and excited about it. i can see how one's ego would be really excited, too, but humble is a better way to be. just my opinion; here's a grain of salt to go with. lol.

i see what your saying Aura, and agree, on the same token, I used to take a lot of pleasure in telling people what astrology sign they were.... i was really accurate with it too,,, the job i worked I had to talk to people in a social setting so it would blow their minds and I would get lots of,,,, "are you a witch" or "how did you do that"..... I just figured some people were easier to read then others and after a while you can tell that sort of stuff if you really know about astrology.... so I dunno,,, i see both sides of the coin, but like aura said the hesitation in yourself would tell me to say no... I dont really guess peopled signs anymore, maybe the social setting isnt there for me to do that,, as i dont work that job anymore, but when i meet someone new, im forever thinking, what is their sign,,, just now, i ask,,, not guess... usually my hunches are right though,,, i still have the knack and that is enough for me

Here are my two cents:
To do what we do comes from Love, Source, God, Creator, the Universe, or whatever word you are comfortable using. What we do does not come from a place of ego. When it does, it doesn't work. It's not about is. It has nothing to do with us, in fact. Our gift is to be in service of others.
Yes, I have cracked up and giggled many times when I just "knew" things I couldn't have possibly known. But, those moments came by accident where even I was surprised. I was not trying to be tested, prove anything, or show off. I think those moments came by as a gift for me - an affirmation that what I was doing was sacred work.
The fact that you're hesitating tells me that on some level you know you shouldn't agree to this. Our gifts are sacred and should be used in service to others. After all, it's about them, not us anyway.

I have to agree with everyone else. Things that we know are from the Universe and not from someone asking. The word that struck me was ego, and how that can make us feel great when we do something to show off and sometimes we are even amazed our self. My concern would be if you already have doubts going into this and your ego is involved, is that a good combination? We are human and therefore have an ego, but in order to become our true selves, the ego must be a lesser force. I'm not sure I could "call" upon intuition at a drop of a hat, but more that it just comes to me, if I need to know it.
Maybe the pain is exactly where your cousin received that tattoo, but why is it such a big deal for her?
Like everyone says...that's my 2 cents

Katie, I say go with your inner feeling on it. I agree with all of the various views and easily see where everyone is coming from. However, my first thought was that there's more of a reason for this. It could be something that could be the beginning a something deeper for your cousin. Maybe she's looking for some confirmation/validation of some sort. Perhaps, there's something much more important for you to find in this medical reading than the location of the tattoo. My suggestion is to just give it some thought and ask for guidance on what to do. Keep us posted. . .I'm interested in what you decide.

I think you've raised a good point, too. That doesn't sound like something that would come from Ego, which is a good thing. To discover and grow and learn is great! To show off isn't. Just my thoughts...

Well, I work on my cousin and her best friend a lot. I have done uncanny readings for their pets and their friends pets, besides both of them. She gets really excited about the stuff I can do, and I think that is all there was to this request. I decided not to do it. After typing that my gut feeling was not to do it, I realized that there was really no question there. Thanks everyone, for your thoughts!!!

Katie, I'm glad that you posted an update. For some reason, I was thinking about this earlier and had wondered what you had decided. Very good for following your inner guidance on it.
