i was just sitting outside and looking at the swing hanging lonely in the breeze. it got me to thinking about our own inner kids. now, i am a full believer in our inner children and the fact that they never grow up. all the want to do it play and giggle and experience the world with 'new eyes'. what ever happened to those kids? mine is still here, fighting to survive against cruel odds. well, this came to me as i was staring at the swing........ i think i'm gonna go swing. ============== ~the lonely swing~ the lonely swing sways listlessly in the breeze forgotten of it's wonder and joy waiting still for that single child to revive it's splendorous ploy (renewing amazement of possibilities vast and restoring the pure innocence past) not unlike the precious inner child forgotten of those natural whiles the child who waits for life renewed to beguile with wonderous styles (you've forgotten that child of distant bliss forever waiting as the softest kiss) the blessing of joy in it's purest truth a gift of the highest form to share in joy of divine nature this memory we all have torn (memory of childlike view into this world of strife our inner child still awaits to sprinkle joy to life) remember this child and always allow her to play never forget the wonder she brings each day always encourage the flowers she will bring and always, always encourage her to swing.

Me too, I love it! I actually bought a wooden swing about 9-10 or so years ago, its a big one, two or three people could sit on it together. I have it in my back yard, I just love it, I have so many cool memories of swinging when I was a kid and my grandparents had a big swing like I did when I was little, so I got one myself... Now its old, still in good shape, but its got that personality of an older swing,,, thanks for brining that love of swings back up to me,,, I think I'll sit out there today!

I love swings and have wanted one of the wood ones for a while. Actually the kind that used to be on all porches. But I want one with a frame to go in the back yard. I do have a glider from my mom, but it is not the same.
Maybe I can ask for one from the Universe.
