I love pendulums. the thing I always ask is if it wants to be with me, or go home with me, or something like that. But I guess your pendulum was hurt and did not appreciate your comment.

Cool. You know I have a few pendulums and I've haven't been using them. Just the other day, I got one out and was bounding with it. It was wonderful. I have it now so I see it every day.

I understand exactly what you mean about giving the answer you want, or think about. Almost all other types of divination you need to keep the question in your head and this is no different. What I usually do is ask the question, let the pendulum swing in a circle and the answer comes after that. I also blank my mind as much as I can while it is swinging. It isn't always easy to do but I do tend to get correct answers if I try not to think about what I want. As if you didn't know this, right
I just looked at your video...pretty cool stuff there Piper

i agree with the PK deal. i had to find my own way of using a pendulum. i have a piece of coral and a shell from a dear friend and i use them as the 'yes and no'. i set a bowl of water in between/above them (since they are from the water, i use water). i'll hold the pendulum in the water and think on my question. when i feel i'm ready, i hold it out and lightly swing it with my eyes shut the entire time. when i feel ready, i quickly, but gently lower the pendulum. then, i open my eyes and see which it's pointing at for yes or no. sometimes it's in the center and that's a null answer. lol. anyhoo, it's strange, i know, but it works for me. with eyes closed, i'm not 'paying attention' to it and can't control it's answer, ya know?

Hey, I thought it was so cool what you did in the video and so I had my pendulum last night and was just letting it swing and decided to try what you did. I was so thrilled to see I could do this also. I started at a completely still position and made it move. I am so tickled I can't even explain it. Now, will I ever be able to ask my pendulum a question again? This forum is so awesome that we can share this stuff and learn. I know I have learned a lot.

hmmm......curious: just for thoughts.....would ya think that this is more possible with people of our 'open' nature or because we are more in tune with our spirits, that this is more possible?

That's a really good question. I'm not sure. When I first bought my pendulum I was not involved in this forum or any spiritual learning. But I ask the pendulum what was yes and what was no. Every pendulum I have had since then has been the same way and now I wonder if it was a preconceived thought that caused them to ask the same way.
But there are questions that I have ask that came to pass. For instance, the first time I was to visit Melanie the pendulum said I wouldn't and I didn't. But the second time it agreed and I did. Doesn't that mean it was right? I have asked other questions and it gives me different answers so I don't give much weight to those, but again there are questions that I have asked more than once and it is always the same.
To go back to the question, I think everyone has abilities when they are born and it may be later in life before there is a situation that makes them think...hey I'm physic or whatever, then they practice this trait. I'm not sure if I am making sense now or not.
Because I now believe the pendulum will not be able to help me as much as before, I think if I use it in a different compasity I will be fine. I should get a board, I've never really used one to any extent before. But I do like me some pendulums.
I should make something so I can display the ones I have. Of course, there are a total of 3 that are my favs. I do still want more, another addiction.
ramble out

well, i would agree that we are all born with natural metaphysical abilities, if only to a point, but i think it's quickly lost due to conditioning, ya know? ("believe this, don't believe that" etc.) but, i feel that it's also in our nature to search out what is lost and reconnect..................(i.e. here we all are). anyway, as for whether or not our fore thoughts control the outcome of a pendulum, well, i think only if there is a definite "deliberate" thought, ya know? not necessarily a thought from some time before, but at the moment of use. like with piper: 'making' it swing with a deliberate thought. but if one is using one and just lets it do as it pleases, then i don't think it's a cause and effect, ya know? ((did i make any sense?)) lol. k, now i'm babbling.

I totally understand why you are saying. I'll try the pendulum again and change my thoughts to see what happens.
