Pendulums

While they may appear simple, pendulums are a powerful and useful divination tool. By interpreting the movements of a swinging pendulum, you can tune into your intuition, find the answer to any question, and locate objects and energy centers.

When you get a new pendulum, the first thing to do is would be to charge it with your energy, get to know your pendulum; look at it closely, close your eyes. What do you feel from your pendulum? What sensations? I would highly recommend using Reiki on your
pendulum as well.Get to know your pendulum and allow it to absorb your energy and get to know you.

The next thing you need to do is let the pendulum tell you what means "yes" and what means "no" -- each pendulum is different, so be sure to ask it. One pendulum might move in counter-clockwise circles to mean yes and a diagonal line to mean no while another does completely the opposite and a third does something entirely different. Ask it controlled questions and see how it behaves. Easy things like Is it -whatever day of the week? Or is my name really ____? Simple questions to start.

Use it with charts, either drawn on your own or specially prepared in pendulum books, to provide guidance on more complex issues and decisions.

The applications for pendulum divination are limited only by your creativity and imagination.

Maybe this is what I am doing wrong. I need to connect more with the pendulum and ask it questions..... I never thought of it like this.

Pendulum are very sensitive. I have 2 that are very successful. The one thing I have noticed, if you are thinking an answer, it will either be confused and go in a circle or stay still. I have also noticed that recently, the chain or string, or whatever starts shaking. Others things I have heard are, no one else should touch it, you need to hold it with your thumb, first and second finger to get an accurate answer and you should not ask the same question constantly. Like I said, it has been pretty accurate for me.

I have a dousing rod and it just doesn't seem to like me. I keep trying, but it really doesn't like my energy.

Another thing, just to play with, is ask the pendulum where the door is or someone that is in the room. It really is awesome to see that.

Sometimes I find when mine starts to shake like that its time to cleanse them. Usually its either sunlight or dead sea salt....which evers handy first.

I had just put them out in the full moon and Reiki-ed them. They have done this for about the past 3 months or so. After it shakes for a few seconds, it settles down and gives me the answer, without shaking. I thought it was different too, I've seen other people use them and never saw the shaking

Hmmmm, I'm going to have to try these suggestions with the pendulums.... Thanks girls.... MY daughter will at first take it and make it swing in a sort of circular motion and then let it just do its thing,,, I have seen it move all different ways after that so I know that method works.... I always just let it sit above the board and asked the question. How do you guys do it?

I love to use pendulums. I just go a new one last weekend, and with it I predicted the birth of my sister's baby. I think sometimes I influence the pendulum so I like to ask the question with my eyes closed, and open them after the pendulum starts to move. I have a book of charts, which is very cool. Sometimes I just like to ask it questions to move in the right direction with a situation. I usually hold it with my right hand over my left palm. For me closckwise is yes, and counterclockwise is no, back and forth is maybe, and holding still is I don't know or I'm not supposed to know.

I always ask the pendulum first if I can ask a question or talk to it first. It usually responds right away as to whether or not it's going to do anything. I usually get a yes and say thank you and then go from there with my questions.
Like you Kristi it's usually in my right hand with the chain loosely over the first two fingers (whatever's comfortable really) and dangle over my left palm. Mine (I have 3) usually answer like yours with clockwise yes, back and forth is a maybe but a dead stand still is a no.
I try to blank my head of anything else before asking my questions and close my eyes at first too when I ask it, because I don't want to influence it in any way. *shrugs It seems to work well for me. I'm still learning of course, but I enjoy it!

I took a dousing mini-class at the woo-woo store, and have a manual on it. I was surprised I was asking the wrong kinds of questions, like trying to predict the future, where free will is involved. It definitely works well to answer things like "Will this (supplement or whatever) be beneficial to my body?" as opposed to "Will so-and-so ask me to marry him?" And when I used it on a pre-printed chart of things that I should work on (anxiety level, different job, etc.) it was amazing. I wish I had a scanner and could put some of that stuff here.

i charge everything in her. whenever i cleanse stones i place them there, but definately when i make something new, it has to go in for at least a day and night. i light a candle that is directly in front of her and will hold the new object over the flame and smudge with sage at the same time, while setting the intent. (in this case, the intent is to always tell the truth). that's an easy way of cleansing and charging at the same time, double time. then, i will set the object inside and keep a candle lit for at least 24 hours, for good measure and burn insence the whole time. then it's done. i hope you likey! ~hugs and loves~
