What is Feng Shui?
To begin this course it would be helpful to know; what is Feng Shui and what does the term "Feng Shui" mean?
Feng Shui works on the basis of the flow of energy currents called Chi. This energy flows through our bodies and our environment. These interacting energies can be influenced to produce positive effects and specific life improvements. These principals of harmonious energy flow have been used in China for thousands of years. Could this be one of the reasons why China has one of the longest sustained cultures in history?
Chi moves in spirals in our home and environment. Blockages of this energy current can create discomfort, illness or environments that are not harmonious. This spiral movement needs to be encouraged in your home or office. Sharp angles on furniture, deep corners, or beams can distort this flow causing "sha" Chi or cutting to be directed at the occupants. Long term exposure to this bad energy can bring upset or illness. Cures, such as hanging crystals, bamboo flutes or plants can break-up or screen this type of energy.
Feng Shui offers a unique way of looking at yourself, your environment and your relationship with your surroundings. By following the basic principles of Feng Shui you can create positive and harmonious effects in your life and relationships.
The term Feng Shui is composed of two Chinese words Feng (wind) and Shui (water). These are the two natural elements that flow, move and circulate everywhere on Earth. They are also the two most basic elements required for human survival. These two fundamental elements have always profoundly and subtly influenced individuals and societies.
Wind and Water are direct carriers of Chi, (life force) Feng Shui is the art of designing environments in harmony with this flow of Chi through one's living space and personal environment. You can't control the Feng Shui of the world, however Feng Shui enables you to design your personal environment according to the same universal principals of energy flow by which planets spin in their orbits and galaxies wheel through space.
To achieve success using Feng Shui there are two basic steps:
1. Examine your life: pinpoint the parts of your life that aren't working and definitely need improvement. Decide specifically how you want these areas to improve. A good way to do this is to sit down and write these out.
2. Adjust your environment: Use the information in this course to adjust your environment to directly affect the life areas you want to improve. Pick the cures that work for you and your lifestyle and implement them.
I can't stress enough the importance of INTENTION. Intention will power the effect of your cures and influence dramatically the changes you wish to bring about. Intention is the simultaneous strong desire and visualization of what you want a cure to produce.
You can perform a wide range of possible cures to transform the situation you wish to change. The appropriate cure can range from moving existing furniture, to hanging crystals in appropriate areas.
Our next lesson will focus on getting started: The Steps To Success!!
