Hello gang, I was going to post this in the "Peculiar Happenings" section, but I didn't think it was strange or something to be worried about. In fact it makes me feel very happy.
On sunday night our family had an early Xmas dinner, as my parents and my brother and his wife are going to be overseas for xmas. It was a really nice night, with a lot of laughs and alot of love. Later in the night, we got to talking about Scotland, where my Gandfather originally came from. My Grandad passed away in 2003, but he still came to dinner. The light above as flickered, and went out. Everyone knew what had happened, we all just felt it. My Mum said "Oh, that's Grandad. Say hi, Nathan!"
After a few seconds, the light flickered and came back on. And just as everyone was leaving, It happened again. The light has been fine since.
So yeah, I thought it was a wonderful reminder that love can even be felt for the ones in our lives who have passed away, but still watch over us.
Oh, while I'm here, my brother's wife can actually see the departed. She's been seeing them since she was little, and when her parents did not believe her, she described an Uncle who had died before she was born, right down to his mannerisms. She had never even seen a photo of him. Her parents don't doubt her anymore.
Anyway, when they first got married, they were going to move interstate just after Xmas last year, but where staying at our house. They were sleeping on the futon in our living room, when Adinda woke my brother up and told him there was an old man watching over them, smiling. She was not afraid of him, and he left shortly. In the morning, we showed her some pictures, as the description she was giving sounded like Grandad. She looked at a photo, and said "It sort of looks like him, only this person was much thinner."
We remembered we had a photo of him just before he passed away. He had cancer, so he had lost a lot of weight, and he really didn't look like he used to. Adinda looked at it and said "That's him!" without hesitation. I thought it was really nice that he had been watching over his new Granddaughter.
So that made my family believers too. I had always know that spirits were here, but it was just comforting to know they can still love.
Thanks guys!
