Have you ever felt karmicly bounded by an animal that is a pet or even one that you just see frequently?
This question popped into my head, as I was tieing my shoes to leave and I had 5 minutes so I thought post it... I have felt this way a lot, and the more I think about it the more interesting it seems of a topic to me!
Ok, gota run, write more later! ((hugs))

Yes, I have felt that way with some of my cats especially. I believe cats are our protectors, and can see and manipulate energy. I have had so many cats and dogs come into my life through sheer synchronicity. I know they were meant to be with me for a reason. We have a dog, Lucy, who called out to me in the Wal-mart parking lot when she was 5 weeks old. We were walking out to our car, and I heard her in my mind. Some people were giving away a litter of puppies, and Lucy was the runt. She had a very traumatic early life, and has needed some special care. I know she was meant to come to us. We had a cat, Skittles who died last year right after Christmas. I felt karmically bonded to her. She was born the runt of a premature batch of kittens. I bottle fed her and saved her life. She was a special cat, and I think she had some brain damage. She died of Distemper. I could go on and on. This is a very interesting topic, I can't wait to hear what other people have to say! Kristi

i have with two different cats (one 15 years ago and one now) and one dog. no doubt about it. kristi, that is so true of cats. they are very special creatures. i have a dog, right now, snoogie, that i adore. she's another child, in a way, but i don't feel connected to her the way i used to feel about our pit, baby. i was very connected to her and i still miss her after 7 years. one can surely tell when they are linked to an animal, just as a person to person, right?

Absolutely.
Whenever people read me, they see children & animals, particularly dogs. I am curious to go back in my akashic records and see if I was some sort of vet or trainer or animal crazy lady or something. Dogs especially, people read around me.
I was definitely karmically connected to the cat I had to give away a few months ago. I actually believe that was part of the bond, that I was supposed to give him to someone else. I have never had to do that, nor would I normally ever consider it. That was the hardest thing ever.

I definitely feel that my bulldog Maxine and I were meant for each other I used to be terrified of most dogs. When I first moved to Boston, one of my neighbors used to walk two English Bulldogs. I didn't know what they were at first but I just thought they were beautiful! They were some of the first dogs I wasn't afraid of anymore. Shortly after that I started dating Dan, my partner, and he said he always wanted a bulldog...then years later we went to visit a mutual friend who was Maxine's person at the time. Maxine had just had her tail amputated (it had been growing into her bum!) and I did Reiki on her. When we left our friend's house that night, I remember saying to Dan, " I want Maxine!" Then finally, a few years ago, we found out that Maxine's human family was moving & having some tough times. I ended up running into our friend the day he was calling around to rescue organizations. I immediately asked if she needed a home. That's how Max became our baby! Even people that don't like dogs always tell Max is different, has a real personality. She often helps me teach Reiki classes and likes to lie down under the massage table when I give Reiki treatments--some of my clients actually request her presence. Animals rule!!! Christine

A while back, before I was introduced to and awakened to my spiritual path, I never really cared for animals...I could take them or leave them, didn't really matter. Through a series of happenings, that all changed for me about 3 years ago. Now I have 2 of my own cats, whom I love dearly, and I definately feel more connected to ALL animals now, not just cats. So, the weird thing is....even all those years ago, when I was clearly not an animal lover, I had cat images all over my home-on the walls, blankets, figurines, etc.....During a Reiki session I was having just after my first cat came along, my Reiki practitioner told me that Sidd, my kitty, had been with me for many lifetimes. I thought, yeah right...suuuure.... After that session, I went home and looked around at all the "Cat art" I had in my living room, and thought about how long I had had all this stuff, and I realized that my practitioner was right. Some part of me knew that Sidd was coming to be with me, eventually. Isn't that funny? I am a firm believer that our animals follow us throughout our spiritual development, lifetime after lifetime, and that they are often with us to help show us the way.

I definitely feel bonded with my cat. I have had her for over 9 years and I got her when she was just born. I was a sophomore in college. A neighbor told me her cat was pregnant and I could have the pick of the litter.
I remembered my dad telling me that you don't choose animals, they choose you. He'd said the animals would come and check me out and then go off to play. If one stayed behind, it had chosen me. I was a small child when he told me that and I still remember - it's an important lesson.
Well, sure enough, my cat chose me. I'd gone over to see the newborn kittens about a week after they were born. They were so tiny! Their eyes were still closed and they wandered around the room clumsily. It was adorable. The four kittens all over the place but one crawled to me and stayed with me. I knew that was my cat. I continued to go over and visit as the weeks passed and she'd always come to me. The others checked me out and visited, but she always stayed with me.
Through college and the years that followed, my cat has been exactly what I needed for comfort and humor and love time and time again. How blessed I am to have her!
