Hi everyone This may sound stupid but here it goes I love my cat, but I am considering getting rid of him...I just don't know what else to do! I've had him for 2 years, and he's fine to me, but he's an absolute demon to my fiance. My fiance will be walking along like normal and my cat will jump out and attack him, very meanly. I mean like scratching and biting/drawing blood!!!! We thought this was just kitten behavior, but it's been 2 years and we don't know what to do ;D I really wish I could 'read him' to see what his problem is, or if the cat is just 'that way.' I've never had to get rid of an animal before unless they were really ill. I'm completely fed up, and vets just say to play with him more, etc. We've tried everything for 2 years and we're really at a loss of what else to do. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm willing to try anything!

Hi everyone,
So I talked to my clarivoyant teacher if you are interested at all...
She told me that my cat has signed up as protector to me in this life, and that I have a karmic connection with him. She told me to change his food, and to keep telling him 'thank you, but I don't need your protection from ____ as he is our friend.'
She also said sometimes animals are as spirtually advanced as humans, and that he is, and not to give up on him.
That made me feel better...

Sorry I didnt' see this post sooner, Shawna! Been away from the 'puter for a few days. A friend of mine taught me that to communicate with your animal, you should first get into a relaxed, meditative state. Animals tend to communicate using pictures, so you may want to try imagining your cat sitting on your lap, with your fiance next to you. Perhaps you could imagine a happy, loving scene that involves the three of you. Show the cat that your finace is not a bad guy. Show the cat that you love both of them. Throw in as many details as possible, from the feel of your cat's feet on your lap, to the softness of his coat, and the sound of his purr. When you finish imagining this scene, remain in your meditative state to see if the cat sends any images back to you. You may be surprised what you get. Good luck with your communicating! Ps, I love your personal qote about the roof!

Oooo very cool stuff! Neat to find out your kitty is a little protector. Also cool to get some feedback on how to help your situation. Cool post Joanie on how to connect. I read a Diane Stein book that had some "stuff" in it about how to connect with animals but that is about as far as I have looked into the subject. Probably because I don't have any animals... but have connected with a neighbors sick dog before in the past. I sent Reiki to the little 90 gallon pond in my front yard and told her in a meditation that she could drink from it anytime she felt she needed it. I wasn't sure it worked but when she started coming to my yard to drink I knew we had connected. Very cool how smart and knowing animals are.

sounds about right to me. especially with cats. cat's definately pick their owners, for many reasons. mine is similar; he really doesn't prefer anyone's company but mine. he'll deal with the kids and tolerate my husband, but only cuz he has to. lol. animals WILL also get jealous. my rotty is very jealous. it's hilarious; if me and my hubby are hugging, she busts inbetween us, whimpering for attention. reassuring your cat will help alot. let him know you are thankful and that you love him and his protectiveness. i don't think you should get rid of him for this. just learn how to respond and make him feel ok about the b-friend. sounds like a real good kitty!

My cats get jealous of the other cats in the house.... The two girls do NOT like each other.... They refuse to allow the other one on the bed if one is already there,,, they will even lay in the doorway so the other one wont come in the room.... The boy cat comes and goes as he pleases and they dont mind him, but the two girls are always being jealous of one another.... If I pet one and one is close enough in reach to pet the other one, I will pet them both but they both get mad and leave me.... I dont know what to do about them, so I just love them as they come to me.... They are just possessive of me I guess.... They both get their cuddles though and they arent mean to other humans, just the other girl cat in the house.... I dont really think my one girl likes any other cats though, shes told me before that she wishes that I would only have her, but I told her thats not going to happen so just deal with it and this is what happens... I think animals have a hierarchy in their minds, dogs and cats do this... There is a leader (usually with a dog its a human) and with the cats it is one of them... My cats love other humans, I think they think ohhh someone else to make give me treats and play with me cause they insist on playing with new humans they meet..... You should have seen Saffys daughter with them yesterday,,,, she could have played for hours!

Thank you everyone, for your kind advice and ideas I just want you guys to know, I would normally never even consider getting rid of an animal I love so much, it's just because he has been SO MEAN and unpredictable, attacking people...and not the "Awh look he's playing!" sort of attack...it's the "LOOK OUT RADIOACTIVE MAN!" type of attack where we end up bleeding and bruised! I have talked to him a few times in the past few days, and I have changed his food. Already he is acting better! Interesting...

Agile if you have any advice or ideas about him, I would be very grateful. Changing his food and talking to him has improved his behavior quite significantly, as has reiking him everyday.
Do you have any other advice?

The first thing I get when I connect with him, is that he was named Maestro because of the way he waved his paws. He tells me he is the king of the house and your fiance takes some of his time with you. Does he have a spot where he looks out the window? He is showing me birds and squirrels outside a window. I asked him why he jumped out and attacked and he told me that this is what hunters do. He said he could be a ferocious hunter if he had the chance. He was very matter-of-fact about it. Do you ever tell him he is your tiger? He showed me a picture of a gray tiger. He would like to interact with you by chasing string or something like that. He tells me he has lots of energy. I asked him to treat your fiance with more respect as it would please you very much. He showed me a picture of a cat cocking its head from side to side, then swishing his tail and walking off. I have to go and teach a class, but if you need anything else, let me know and I'll try to connect with him again. He has a wonderfully dry sense of humor. I can imagine that he is a real spitfire even when he isn't attacking! Fay

Thank you for reading him I completely see how he would say he is a hunter. Maestro loves to chase everything that moves. He is a very 'matter of fact' cat, and very, very prideful at all times. He comes across as a real snob, but I know he has a really great sense of humor. I do tell him he's a "Tiger Cat" quite often. "Hey tiger cat!" and such things I'll say to him. Who knew the bum took it literally? Haha! He does have a HUGE amount of energy, more than any animal I've ever seen. You were right on with him, thanks so much! He has been much more calm in the past few days, it's really quite amazing!
