Hi everyone! Just a curiosity question really... Have you found that everyone's reiki feels different to you? After going to a few reiki shares, it's becoming evident to me that everyone gives reiki different. Apparently mine feels very hot for example. My teacher's feels very strong, my other friends...different feelings altogether as well. Do you think it's just because of our personal differences how our reiki is given to others? Of course we are all giving the same reiki from the source... What do you think?

Good question, I think that it also is the perception of the person receiving as well. Like sometimes we anticipate feeling something and we do because of that anticipation.
I agree with you, I think that some people just feel differently then others, but I dont know if that is me or the other persons doing... I wonder what others think!

I have to absolutely agree. Some of my attunements from the same person (not to be named) have been different. I think you receive what you are ready for and depending on the modality, the intensity can vary. But I also know that receiving from different people feels different. I have received both gentle and intense from the same person and I have felt like I was pulling information out of another. The person I put through the vacuum also sent another attunement and it was a beautiful, very visionary experience.
I have heard that certain people who gives attunements also have different experiences. I have heard some say "that person just wore me out"
Did I make sense? So basically, it is a different experience for everyone. Star, is that how you feel giving different attunements to many different people?

i'm sure it would differ just as people differ. some have stong personalities, some bubbly, i personally was actually tickled by star. lol. i guess i would assume it would have something to do with personality and ability. a combo of the two. makes sense to me. ya'll have very good points, though. makes me think about it more. i love to analyze. lol.

I think there are a lot of variables. Sometimes when I send I feel like the person is pulling the energy from me. I think Kundalini feels hotter than Usui. I use my chakras to send different colors, and I think each color feels a little different. Kristi

;)Having had Reiki treatments from 6 different practitioners over the years, I can attest to the fact that everyone feels different. Some felt light, airy and feminine, others felt thicker, hotter and slightly more intense.
My Reiki Master's always felt really light and fluffy, like a butterfly. And I have received Reiki from 2 other students she herself attuned, and they both felt very different!
From feedback I received from my clients, they tell me my Reiki is very hot. One person said it felt like she was being burned, although it didn't hurt her. Interestingly enough, during that session, my hands did not feel hot to me at all.
Energy is always changing, so, I would think that it depends on a number of different things as to how the Reiki feels during any one given session. That's what makes Reiki so interesting! You never know what you're going to come up with.

I agree with one and all. It's always slightly different, depending on the person and if it's a share or an attunement. Although I have to laugh sometimes because there have been a few attunements that I have received and most of what I saw is color and the color was usually the one(s) I'm color deficient for. Strange but true.

In-person Reiki feels mostly the same to me although some days and with some people I am more sensitive. I think sometimes I am sensing a bit of the person's own energy in addition to the Reiki. Usually once a treatment gets started I mostly feel the energy just like an air pressure change above me and a lot of warmth.
Distance Reiki (receiving) for some reason I mainly feel in my feet. Not sure what that's all about !

Well, Christine, Reiki goes wherever it is needed. Or, maybe thats the grounding you are feeling?

Not only does Reiki feel different from person to person, but one person's Reiki can feel different from one hand position to another. My Reiki master was using me to demonstrate different hand positioins - when she layed her hands upon my abdomen, it felt like an extemely hot heating pad, but when she layed her hands upon the sides of my head, it felt very electrical and tingly.
