Over the last few years, I have started awakening more and more. I've started living my life consciously, discovering how we create our own reality through our intentions, and learning how to change my own negative limiting beliefs to positive ones that support me.
It's already been a wonderful and fascinating journey, but now I'm going through another awakening ... of a more spiritual nature.
I have always been interested in spiritual topics such as astral projection, magick, and the like, but I've never seriously dedicated myself to exploring any of them.
The truth is I was afraid. I consciously astral projected one time as a teenager and it scared the crap out of me so bad I was never able to do it again.
I just went through a spiritual awakening at Christmas and now I'm not afraid any more. In fact, I'm drawn to spiritual topics even more strongly.
Well, I'm listening to my intuition and I'm starting to explore a few of the things I'm interested in. Today, I started exploring a form of dynamic meditation called "The Silva Method" or "Silva Ultramind System".
It involves getting your mind into the alpha state, an altered state of consciousness where your brain works at a slower cycle than our normal beta waking state.
(I've read studies where they measured the brain activity of Tibetan monks during meditation and found they are in the alpha state.)
I've never had much luck with the few times I've tried to meditate in the past. I've always had a tremendous amount of "chatter" going on in my mind and never really felt I could get the hang of it.
So, I thought I'd give this method a try since they used a guided meditation audio and I could try their method through a free online course before I purchased their home study course.
I used the guided meditation audio twice today and I came up with three interesting experiences I'd like to share.
My first experience happened this afternoon. I got to the part of the meditation where it guided me to let go of feeling my feet, knees, and thighs as part of my body.
As I did this, I saw a clear image on the black screen of my mind. I saw a black silhouette of a man's head and shoulders (I just felt that it was a man). Surrounding the black silhouette was a band of three colors flowing into one another ... the color closest to the black silhouette was light grey, the light grey blended into a slate blue, and the slate blue blended into a dark purple, almost a purplish-black.
I couldn't see any details of the figure, just the silhouette surrounded by the colors. I also couldn't see any background details, it just appeared as this image I've described on a black background, the same background I normally see when I close my eyes if I'm not visualizing something.
I didn't feel the presence of anything near me.
My second experience happened this evening, during my second session. I got to a different part of the meditation and entered a very very deep relaxed state, like my physical body was asleep but I was still very aware mentally.
All of a sudden, I felt like my center of awareness was rocking inside my physical body. It was like I was a ball of consciousness just kind of rocking back and forth gently from within my chest area. Kind of felt like I was basketball in a hammock. hehe
EDIT: I actually felt my consciousness drop from my head into that ball at the chest level. Imagine your consciousness as a basketball. Then imagine it gets dropped gently into a net. Then imagine the net swinging back and forth like a hammock. That's as close as I can get to the way it felt.
My third experience also happened this evening, as I was approaching the end of the meditation. I got a very strong feeling that my hands weren't actually hands anymore. They just felt like balls of energy.
It's hard to describe, but the interesting part of this was how they felt. It was like I could feel everything around my hands without that feeling coming from physical contact with my hands.
Imagine how you might feel if you could see all directions around you at once ... but take that and apply it to feeling instead of sight and my hands instead of your head.
After I ended the meditation, my hands were just putting off tremendous amounts of chi. (I practice Qigong, so I'm used to feeling chi flow through me, but this was really really strong ... stronger than I've ever felt before. I can still feel it flowing out of my hands as I type this.)
I find all of these experiences really fascinating and encouraging. But I'm so new to all of this that I don't know how to understand my experiences.
That's where you all come in. :-)
Any ideas on what I might have experienced? Have you ever had similar experiences? Do any of these experiences mean anything to you?
Thanks for letting me share these experiences with you. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
With Love,
Roy
