Here is a great website that offers some Buddhist mantras in audio file, so your not left wondering,,, how do they pronounce that anyhow? I know that happens a lot to me when I am learning about new stones,,, I will pronounce it like I think it should be only to hear something different once I actually hear someone say the name... www.wildmind.org/mantras/figuresI just got a Tibetan Mala today and am figuring out which mantra I want to use with it. I was reading about malas today and I read that you should use the same mantra with one of them and say the mala for 40 days to make it infused with that mantra and when you change the mantra you actually change the energy of the mala. I thought that was just cool... Has anyone else used a mala before? If so got any things to share or mantras that you use with it?

Malas are great. Actually prayer beads like this exist in many cultures. I grew up using the Catholic rosary and I also have a mala that I use for some Tibetan mantras. I was actually trying to get a class going on prayer bead making and working with prayer beads for people of all diff religions but it never took off.

Yea, they are really cool, I have a few rosaries as well,,, i had a mala made out of stone beads a while back but it broke, i havent restrung it because I am trying to figure out what to use cause I dont think beading wire would be good, so I havent done anything with it... So I got a wooden one, its very nice and I have been doing it once a day, using the White Tara mantra

Neat, thanks Star. I myself only have a set of wooden Korean prayer beads that my best friend got me (she's living in South Korea now) I pretty much wore the them out! Love them though.
