ok, so i thought i'd start a conversation about some uses of our pretties, so here's just a little.............
alum

uses: alum has been worn in egypt as a protective amulet against evil. on the north coast of africa, alum is also used for this purpose. a peice of alum is placed in the home to guard it and small amounts of this mineral are sewn into or placed in children's hats to protect them as well.
