around here, when the daffodils and japanese magnolia begin to bloom, the spring is very near. such vibrant yellow and purple!! beware, i write alot of poetry in the spring. lol. check out my pretties! oh, and the japanese magnolia will bloom a couple more times as it fills out, so when it does, it's even prettier, so i'll share it later, too. lol. (keep in mind, there is a large row of these and more rows to come up soon. when the whole rows fill out perfectly, i may take another pic. lol) (this was the first blossom on a little "mini tree" that blooms these small magnolia looking flowers. it's really pretty when the whole thing is in bloom, but i have no idea what it is.)

yup, that's the one. it's so pretty when it first blooms, cuz it's only the flowers, but then, the leaves begin to fill in and it'll bloom a few more times and it's such a thick little tree. we keep it trimmed to about 8 or 10 feet, though, cuz it's so pretty at that size. plus, the bigger they get, they will not bloom as much, so we keep it short. they can get really big! i have no idea where my daddy-in-law got it. it's been right there for quite a many years, so (shrugs). i love it and have made a couple wands from the branches that broke off in the last big storm.

oh, i just had to add these. these are some of my favorites. i'm not sure what they are, but like most flowers and trees, i've nic-named them. i call these faery bells/faery caps. bells since they droop over like bells and caps since they look just like little faery hats, ya know? i can just see them taking these tiny flowers and wearing them. lol. and also; these are white with tiny green dots on the petals. how often do you see green flowers or flowers with any green on the petals? odd huh? lol.
