I am way into Ayurveda! I am a Pitta/Kapha. I have learned about it through several books, and actually saw an Ayurvedic Physician a few years ago who helped me clear up chronic sinus infections. I am a fan of Deepak Chopra, and a lot of his books have info about Ayurveda. I went to his spa in CA last year and had Ayurvedic massage. Kristi

How cool, glad i asked... how did you figure out your dosha? from what I have read I am Kapha/Vata but I think leaning more on the Kapha then Vata side... There is a school down here that is an accredited college you can get your degree in natropathic Ayurveda medicine, or even Ayurvedic massage,, I am really looking for something to learn in school because the state wants to retrain me after this back is healed and since this keeps coming up for me and I found the school I was thinking about exploring that option,,, its like Ayurveda is a lot of what I believe in anyhow,,, even though I am still a newbie with it. I too love Deepak Chopra and have been listening to his speeches for a few months now... I would love to go to his spa and get a Ayurvedic massage!

"Ayu" means life and "Veda" means knowledge from Vedic texts. Ayurveda is a holistic science and knowledge of the body mind and spirit. The short story from what I gather of it already is that it views healing, our bodies, minds, spirit as a whole practice and not just seperate from the universe. It has been practiced in India for a long time. It looks all all of the aspects of the universe from the macrocosmic to the microcosmic in terms of healing,,, ie,,, the plants, stars,,, and down to a cellular level. It embraces all of that to help you understand healing, health, and the lnk between.... It is really a lot of stuff to learn,,, Ayurveda Reiki is what started me on this path,,, its like you know, you start to lean something about one topic and then you go wow,,, look what it leads into and it opens a ton of doors... Thats me and Ayurvedic medicine at the moment,,, just trying to put it all together myself and figure it all out Maybe Kristi can give you some more details on what she thinks... I am glad someone else here knows about it too!

Check the chopra.com website for a self test to figure out your dosha............I love "Magical Body, Magical Mind" it is a book on cd Chopra did several years ago about how we can heal ourselves, and there is lots about Ayurveda there.....his book "Perfect Weight" is also great cause it teaches you how to eat and exercise for your dosha to help maintain a balanced weight. I'm sure I will have more to add, but that's all for now. ((hugs)) Kristi

I have listened to most of his books rather than read them........Ronda and I saw him kin person a few years ago, and he did this guided meditation with a room full of 800 people.............it was so cool! I felt like I was 5 feet in the air looking down on the room! Kriti

Ooooo I wanna know what my "dosha?" is!!!
My Mom was trying to talk me into studying to become an herbalist earlier this year. I mean I was pretty gun ho for a while about it but...She's WAY into that stuff I was just sort'a into it I guess. I found some sites on Ayurveda and was really interested in learning more. I did see a school in Florida that sounded really interesting but well...
Then I got all side tracked and have NO idea what I want to be when I grow up LOL!
Gonna check the site out, sounds very interesting.

The initial part said I was Pitta then part two said Vata equally. It was really weird because it seemed to focus alot on relaxing and MAN can I use some of that. I've just been so busy and it just really sounded right on for the most part. Very VERY cool! I'm following Starie! I'm following Starie! Headed back to the site too

it says: In Ayurveda, it is rare that someone accumulates the exact same proportion of a dosha in mind or body. Please answer the following question(s) so that we can provide the most accurate personal recommendations:
so, let's see.................... ok, so i go with the higher numbers, right? hell, i'm a very balanced person obviously. lol. my scores or even on both sides. that's good, right? lol. i guess this says i'm Vatta Vatta. my question is; what's too high, too low or just right? my scores are the same on both sides. mind and body scores are exactly the same. i'm just gonna have to do some more reading. lol. be back after a few!

That's awesome everyone, I'm glad you're figuring out your dosha/doshas. Miss Fae, I just knew you were a pure Vatta, flitting around as you do...........lol...........I love this stuff, I think it is so interesting. You main dosha is the one that is the easiest to go out of balance for you. My main dosha is Pitta, so when I am stressed I anger easily, get skin rashes and heartburn because Pitta is fire and too much of it literally burns. My secondary dosha is Kapha, which has been out of balance and contributing to my weight problem and diabetes. Check out the teas and spice blends in the chopra store. I have them for my dosha, and I think they are awesome! Kristi
