This website has an online course that you can take,,, it also has in person classes,,, they are located down here in South Florida... The online course allows you to take the first section of it for free, I have only read and signed up to the beginning of that but it did state that it would help you learn to understand Ayurveda through the week long course,,, I just thought I would share www.floridavediccollege.edu/

the book is "ayurvedic beauty care" ageless teqhniques to invoke natural beauty...by melanie sachs.
I need to read it... but it's not a simple read... it's one of those things I need to learn and practice!
Does anyone take salt baths..?? I was reading in one of my books that we should take salt baths 3 times a week.
Hugs!

Salt baths? Like as in salt in the water you bathe in? I know sounds like a dumb question but I have heard of people drinking certain salt water to clear out their system so I dont know if thats what you mean... It seems to me that you need to have your thinking cap on to read about Ayurvedic stuff so I am not surprised you said its not a simple read. I like the challenge though

If it's salt baths, then ya. I do it all the time. I make my own bath salts with dead sea salt and essential oils.

I highly recommend the oil self-massage recommended in Ayurveda. The idea is to use sesame or coconut oil, and give yourself a head-to-toe massage with the oil, let it sit for few minutes, and then shower it off. I do it in the winter to help with dry skin. I use coconut oil because it is better for Pitta. I think sesame oil is recommmended for Vatta and Kapha. It's great for your hair and skin. It also helps move toxins of your body. I usually add a couple of essential oils to the coconut oil. Right now I am using Sandalwood and Rosewater. The reccomendation is that you do this daily. I usually just do it 2 times a week during fall and winter. Kristi
