Passing Attunements

Well, the opportunity to attune someone has presented itself to me. I got my Master Level in June, and I have never passed an attunement before. So, I come here in search of any tips you may have that would help me remember the attunement sequence for Usui Level 1 and 2. It's a lot to remember, and I want to do a good job, since the person I am going to attune was born to do Reiki. Thanks!

My advice to you is to remember that there is no "right" way to do it. I stressed out about this myself. The important thing is your intention. That's all that really matters.

Intention is everything. I've had the Diane Stein attunements done on me, which were very strong. My Reiki Master/Teacher attunement was super strong and I have that procedure written down which is a bit long but very effective.

One thing that really helped me was making flash cards for myself, one card for each step and then drilling myself on it. My teacher said she used to practice on a teddy bear. For me just doing the flash cards and talking myself through it alone in my room helped a lot.

The attunement process is important but a lot is about intent and the student's desire to receive Reiki. I believe that our guides help us and correct any "mistakes" in the attunement.

I agree, make yourself some flash cards. When I was taught Usui my teacher wouldnt let us use them LOL,,, but when I learned Karuna Reiki my teacher was like, take the book and use it when you do it. Both teachers made sure I could pass the attunements along before I was finished....

So make yourself some flash cards, and most of all set your intent and dont worry, they have their eyes closed anyhow hehehe... (((hugs))) your going to do awesome!

I'm not one to tell as I have only given one myself. I know what you mean about some one "born" to be special, whether it be Reiki or other healing. I went through the worrying and thinking I couldn't do it right. But like every one has said, there is no right way. The way that works best for you is the right way. Intention is everything. I agree with Christine also in that our "mistakes" are fixed.

Since agreeing to do my friend's attunement, another friend of mine has expressed interest in becoming a practitioner, as well. And the big surprise is now my 18 year old son has indicated that he might be interested in an attunement. Shucks, I've been gently prodding him in that direction for a couple of years. He is another one who I have always felt was a natural born healer. I am soooooo excited about all this!

I love the flash cards idea! And I so agree with the intent and it will all work out. My first passing of an attunement was a distance one I admit and I was worried that I would do something wrong, and freaked myself out. While doing it I know I switched the sequence of the symbols and realized and got all worried and then all I heard was "It's all right. Keep going" and I did and it all worked out. So don't worry and fuss, it will all work out the way it's supposed to!

It has everything to do with intent your guides and ascended masters are there to help you Your question actually helped me, because it has been awhile since I have given an attunement, and the violet breath, always kept me on my toes..lol, the procedure to direct the energy

Flash cards is an awesome idea.I'm going to attune the rest of the fam soon.Do you have to wait any length of time after becoming a master before you can pass attunements?

I think I started teaching/attuning very soon after the attunement...I don't think there's any waiting period, just whenever you feel ready to do it!

You can technically attune someone to Reiki as soon as you are attuned to it yourself, the only thing I suggest is that you feel confident in what your sharing with others, so if they ask questions you can help them out and be there to share that with them.
I waited a long time before I started teaching Reiki but that was just because I wasnt ready, some people say wait a certain amount of time but I dont think that is necessary. As long as you feel confident in what you are doing, then I say you can go for it. In fact before I was allowed to get my Karuna Reiki Master certificate I HAD to be able to attune others, it was part of the process.... So just make sure you know what your doing and have a fair sense of ability to communicate everything to someone else and go for it!

I agree with what Star said. I also had to attune others as part of my Reiki Master Training. I also co-taught with my teacher a few times. I think passing the attunement, there's no energetic reason why you can't do it now if you are comfortable...it's more if you feel comfortable teaching someone. William Lee Rand has some good manuals you can use.
