question: is it layered? i mean like kyanite is or selinite? it may just be the way it's cut, but it looks like it's formed in striations. just wondering.............

Not really layered that I can tell. And it is neither Kyanite or Selenite...and Star you can't get purple Kyanite but you can gt pink, green, and yellow! Here's a few other pics of it. See if it helps?! Darn they're not as clear as I'd like them sorry. Still learning to play with my new camera...sigh...

I know you guys might think I'm way off here on this guess but I was gonna say a rough piece of Rhodinite.
I know I know it's usually pinker but some times it's darker with pink in it.... so that's my guess.
Oh and can we have a hint? Or how are we doing this? I'm out of the loop! Gotta get my act together!

Sorry Angel, good guess though. Hint eh? ummm......it's a mixture of 2 gemstones, both semi precious, both stones you'd find as a birthstone...that's about as good as I'm going to give you! teehee

Awesome....I have been going crazy. I had 3 books and the internet yesterday trying to figure this out. Oh, yea I had the birthday list too. You know what really sucks I have a ruby/sapphire from Madagascar. Mine is polished on one end and that threw me. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
