Use a mantra to find your own voice; mantras are sacred words of great power and blessings. Mindfulness is a chance to be awake instead of half unconscious, responding consciously instead of reacting automatically, mindlessly.

I love that,,, practicing mindfulness.... I have worked on this sooooo much,,,, its not as simple as you would think,,, just taking mindfulness with you all day long... my mind loves to frolic and play somewhere else.... its funny,,, last week i was so freaking lazy,,, like really lazy i didnt go to the gym once,,, i rarely ever do that.... and i noticed my mind was not as sharp and vibrant as it usually was,,, then i went today,,, despite my fight i didnt want to go,,, but i made myself and i cant express how much more mindful i feel now... getting your body going and connecting the body with your mind is the key to living more mindfully.... at least to me.... like yea,,, i am in this body,,, not floating out there somewhere....
anyone else ever experience it like that?

yep, all the time. it's hard to keep my mind where it needs to be, so i have to make myself sometimes or remind myself alot! lol. here's today's and i'm not too sure on a cold shower. lol. i couldn't handle that, but it's an idea:)

In the bathroom, cleanse yourself of the dust of the world. A cold shower meditation is a good way to practice softening to an uncomfortable feeling. Make the water a bit colder than you normally prefer. Clear your mind and be compassionate. Push your limits but without being self-punishing. (This could also be done with hotter-than-normal water.) Gradually change the shower setting and see how long you can stay centered and focused.

Koan: From where were you born and to where will you return? Select a period of time in your day and resolve to become aware during that time of your intentions to speak. Direct your attention to the state of mind that immediately precedes talking. Note whatever it is.

[glow=red,2,300]It is good to ask yourself continually why you meditate. It is good to keep track of your values, what is really important to you. Chant the mantra AH on the out-breath. Dissolve, rest, just be. [/glow]

I just did a little trial with the AH and it really seems to let more release than just a normal breath out. Thanks for this. And it is so easy to do

[glow=red,2,300]Contemplate body as body internally, externally, and both internally and externally. Be independent, not clinging to anything in the world. Abide contemplating the body as body. Pay attention to the feel of your body when you first wake up in the morning.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Set all your baggage down, every day, every minute. Let your feelings and thoughts pass through your consciousness like clouds passing through the sky. [/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Investigate your distractions. Make a distraction your object of focus, then return to your primary task. Mantra: To accomplish my own and others' aims, I generate the mind seeking Enlightenment. [/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Close your eyes and walk in the dark. Meditate on any chakra. They can become blocked. By meditating on each, you can reactivate the energy of the chakras. [/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]The next time you have the urge to interrupt someone in a conversation, pause. Instead, really listen to the complete thought(s) expressed. Don't just wait for them to finish talking so you can interject. Listen. See how fully you can accept the life that presents itself to you now. [/glow]
