I AM is an affirmation I do on a daily basis. I pick three for a week and concentrate on them. If I brush my teeth, I do the I AM and I feel weird if I don't.
I AM very powerful

[glow=red,2,300]Explore the relationship between your body and mind: what is the connection between your mental state and any degree of physical pain? Mindfulness dramatically amplifies the probability that any activity in which you are engaged will result in an expansion of your perspective and understanding of who you are. It's a remembering, a reminding yourself to be awake. [/glow]

An interesting theory, but I can certainly understand it.

[glow=red,2,300]To be aware that we are interdependent with everything and everyone else is true spirituality. Even your smallest, least significant thought, word, or action has real consequences throughout the universe. Seeking to help others is more important than only looking out for yourself. [/glow]

I know what you mean, charity begins at home.
Star and I were talking about this very thing this morning.
My question is, if I unconsciously have a thought (negative) and I catch myself and turn it around to a positive, is that bringing negativity to me?

[glow=red,2,300]Visit the trees and gardens around your house. Walk through the woods. Learn to name the flowers and plants. Take time to sit and reflect on nature. Be your own Zen Master! When you catch yourself being habitual, spontaneously do something absurd. It will feel very strange, but you will find that you cannot take your habits so seriously. Every time you do this, your habit will become harder and harder to slip into unconsciously. You will be set free to find new ways to respond to each new moment. [/glow]

Meditate on your wedding ring and reaffirm your commitment to your partner and your relationship. Start a prostration in a standing position. Raise your arms in salutation and then lower them to the forehead, the throat, and the heart. The body is then lowered to your knees and the forehead placed on the floor. Repeat three times.

[glow=red,2,300] * Receptive meditations teach you to be fully present, mindfully attentive, and open to the dynamism, complexity, subtlety, and totality of your experience. Receptive meditations embrace the flow of all experiences, pleasant or unpleasant and inner or outer. Traditionally, the practices of zazen, mindfulness, dzogchen, mahamudra, self-remembering, and prayer of the heart would fall into this category. [/glow]

Develop the state of mind of equanimity, for as you do repugnance will grow less. Compose a haiku, preferably in a restful outdoors setting. Enter a calm meditative state of mind. Be aware of your surroundings and the atmosphere. Be aware and see what arises. A haiku usually has 17 syllables, but you could start with 8-12 words, no matter the number of syllables. Once you have written a haiku, do not try to improve it. Leave it as it is. Your haiku will present itself at the right time, like it has always existed.

Meditate on this: what mundane concerns of the day can you drop to make room for more spiritual, timeless, and important values? Take the time to forgive wholeheartedly. Do you make a habit of obsessively going over the past. Let it go, let it be. Note "mulling over," and return to the breath and the present moment.
