Well since we all discussed possibly meeting sometime in the summer of 2008 to crystal dig... I figured Id start a thread that we could all contribute to... Lets do some research together and find some cool places that could be somewhat centrally located to as many of us as possible that we could do that at.... We already have Moorfield Mine in VA... I will post some links to places I found here, I bookmarked them on my other computer, but lets all look and figure it out... It all starts with a thought, right? And I know some I mean many of us are really wanting to meet so lets start to visualize and work towards that goal! This is not something that is too far fetched to make happen,,,, soooooo,,,, ideas, suggestions,,,, thoughts,,, and remember,,, this is US we are talking to,,, nothing is too "off the wall" for this group, I dont think!!! Just the thought of us meeting and doing this sounds awesome and sends goosebumps down my arms! ((hugs))

North Carolina sounds like it has lots of fun places. For emeralds: The Emerald Hollow Mine is in Hiddenite, NC. www.hiddenitegems.com/ I think it's about an hour from Charlotte. For sapphires and rubies: Spruce Pine, NC - www.gemmountain.com/This one is about an hour from Ashville, NC in Franklin, NC. Sort of midway for Sloan and Star? Fay

And of course there is Crystal Park in MT.....but I am game to head east next summer....... Kristi

Yea, maybe we could make this a yearly thing,,, or every other year even if every year doesnt work out... I would love to go out west,,, I have never really been further then Texas as an adult so it would be sweet to out West & North/West ,, and the most North Ive been is Canada, but only around the Detroit border.... What a great reason to have a vacation, to go dig rocks with all of you! Just tooooo fun!

Uht! How'd I miss this before!
I'm so excited! It would be so cool to mine our own stuff! I think setting a place and the goal to do it would be awesome!!!
I don't think there are any good places around these parts. They just have these places where you have to be like a scientist or teacher to go. I dunno? Some of the people in a crystal class I attended talked about it. Sounded lame anyway.
We do have some family in NC so maybe that'd would be cool. Rubies, Emeralds and Sapphires sound WAY awesome!!
Sounds so exciting (rubbing hands together!!!)

I don't think this is near many people, but there is a celestite cave and mining in Put in Bay..up by Lake Erie, in fact it said it was the largest geode. However I can't find any information about being able to mine you own there. I'm still looking.

You know I was thinking,,, once we find a place, we will have to of course find a place to stay for a few days around the digging grounds, since most of us dont live in a cave,,, hmmm wait faery might,,, do you Faery? hehehe just kidding,,,, or maybe we could stay in the mine we choose to dig out of,,, that would be so cool!! Camping out in a mine!! Imagine the energy,,,, wooooo just getting goose bumps thinking about it!! I think making plans this far in advance would give us plenty of time to save though, you know... I have also been thinking, how can we as a group make some money to help us out,,, like above and beyond what we already do,, you know?
I was thinking maybe something on eBay,,, maybe selling Reiki sessions and doing them as a group and splitting whatever money we made off it as a group,,, you know we have a long time until next summer and I bet we could make enough to pay for our trips if we plan it like that... I would be more then happy to put the work into a special eBay account for us, and doing something like this,,, I think Reiki is great because its not like we need to buy anything to do this, it just takes our energy and combined forces to make something like this happen. I used to sell reiki sessions on eBay, 10 for like $140 and I would sell one or two of those a month... Even putting in the ad why we are selling the sessions who we are and why we want to do this as a combined effort... You know I think it would be pretty cool to have a group of people working on me at one time,,, it would be something I would consider buying myself,,, you know?
Just some food for thought,,, I love coming up with ideas and presenting them to everyone,,, everyone always has some ideas to make my original plans that much better!

That sounds like a great idea Star. It's nice sometimes to have more than one person during a session, the energy is so intense! Great easy idea to raise money. I like it!
